Master Carver Earns Honorary PhD 

This university marae had been under construction as a significant building project, for more than 4 years. It had involved commercial companies, university staff, and master carvers. The project was given a February 2009 date for a public opening, with more than 1000 people invited.  

We do what it takes to complete your project 

Maintain It Joined the project in December, working through the holiday period. Early in 09 with no main contractor on the project, Maintain It worked in with the university staff, carpenters and master carvers by completing these elements:

  • Landscaping works
  • Interior and exterior painting
  • Supply and installation of joinery furniture
  • Roofing works
  • Exterior cladding
  • Installation of carvings and weavings
  • Dealing with council inspections and code of compliance 

We work round the clock 

Towards the end of the project Maintain it had in excess of 12 tradesman working right up to the early hours prior to the dawn opening ceremonies. The end result is of a fantastic build, demonstrating beautiful design and a wonderful display of craftsmanship. It should also be noted that the master carver has since received a honorary PhD as a result of this project.
